National Christmas tree artist loves nature (The Olympian)
Olympia artist Barbara Joslin Packard was selected to draw the 2006 national Christmas tree, which will be cut Nov. 1 from a still secret site in the Olympic National Forest, then journey to the “other Washington” to stand on display this holiday season on the west front lawn of Capitol Hill, facing the Washington Monument.

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla., Sept. 18 (UPI) — The eastern Florida city of Port St. Lucie has had eight years of bad luck trying to grow cypress Christmas trees in front of City Hall and might just give up.
